Privacy policy

The short version

This site is a static website. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not set marketing cookies, and we do not sell data. We collect the minimum needed to keep the site online and understand roughly how many people read a page.

Information we collect

• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, user agent, referring page and timestamp — for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for a short period and are not linked to any identity.
• Aggregate analytics. We may use privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics that count page views without profiling individuals or tracking you across other sites.
• Email you send us. If you email us, we keep the message so we can reply and maintain a record of corrections.

What we do not collect

• No account system, so no names, passwords or profiles.
• No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• No payment information — all purchases happen on the retailer's own site.

Third parties

Clicking an affiliate link takes you to a retailer such as Amazon. From that point their own privacy policy and cookie practices apply, including any cookie they use to attribute the referral. We receive only anonymous, aggregated commission reporting — never your name, your address or your payment details.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because we hold almost nothing, this usually means deleting an email thread. Write to hello@beforeknow.com and we will act within 30 days.

Children

This site is aimed at general consumers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
